Senior Plumbing Project Manager Commercial Construction

Location: Houston, TX

We are seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial plumbing construction projects in Houston, Texas. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can manage projects from early planning through final closeout while guiding field teams and maintaining strong client relationships.

This position requires a hands-on manager with a deep understanding of commercial plumbing systems, cost control, scheduling, and team leadership.

Role Overview:

The Senior Plumbing Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of assigned projects, including planning, execution, financial performance, safety compliance, and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Manage all phases of commercial plumbing projects from preconstruction to completion
  • Develop project schedules, manpower forecasts, procurement plans, and material timelines
  • Lead preconstruction coordination, constructability reviews, and system layout planning
  • Conduct kickoff meetings with field leadership and project stakeholders

Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Establish project budgets, cost codes, and financial tracking systems
  • Monitor labor productivity, material usage, subcontractor performance, and equipment costs
  • Manage change orders, pricing, documentation, and client approvals
  • Implement strategies to control costs, reduce rework, and protect project margins

Field Leadership & Coordination

  • Provide direction and support to superintendents, foremen, and field crews
  • Ensure plumbing installations meet drawings, specifications, and code requirements
  • Oversee installation of piping systems, fixtures, pumps, valves, boilers, and related components
  • Perform regular site visits, quality checks, and progress reviews

Client & Partner Relations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and inspectors
  • Participate in coordination meetings, progress reviews, and site walk-throughs
  • Maintain clear, professional communication to support project success and repeat business

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain organized project records including RFIs, submittals, change logs, and daily reports
  • Prepare weekly progress updates and monthly cost-to-complete forecasts
  • Oversee billing packages and ensure accurate project documentation

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA standards and site-specific safety plans
  • Review safety documentation, inspections, testing, and quality control reports
    Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor assistant project managers, project engineers, and field leadership
  • Support onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives
  • Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and strong communication

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience managing commercial plumbing construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, construction sequencing, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams and complex projects
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
  • Reliable transportation
